first impressions / första intryck was an exhibition centered around the moment of first encounter, whether with a new person, an object, a place, or sensation. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction and the desire to understand something (at first glance) unfamiliar, is met with a push within oneself to leave an equal mark of impression on the other.

Shown at De Ontdekking, Fort Maarsseveen, Maarssen, Netherlands, 28.06.2026 until 31.08.2026, an outdoor group exhibition.
Born from a fascination with our obsession with capturing short moments, preserving our surroundings, and our experiences within them., the work approaches the topic of artificial nature, recreating a scene from nature, and shifting the time boundaries that usually apply: The shape of a rock is remade from wood, deteriorating faster than it’s mmineral counterpart. The effect of a rippling water puddle is captured in glass. This frozen state allows us to explore its interactions with light in detail and taking on the rythms of the day.
